The Samsung Galaxy S6 measures 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8mm and weight 136g. It has a metal-built premium design and the removeable back. Removable battery found in its predecessors.
The Galaxy S7 offers a similar design to the Galaxy S6 but it is a little smaller in footprint, a little thicker and a little heavier. The S7 measures 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9mm and hits the scales at 152g.
The camera lens and microSD support has reintroduced for the Galaxy S7 .But the removable battery is not included. There is a fingerprint sensor on board as there is with the Galaxy S6.
One more thing differentiates the old and new Galaxy models is water and dust resistance. The Galaxy S7 has an IP68 rating, which means it will be significantly more resistant than its predecessor.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 offers a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel) resolution. It provide flat display.
The Galaxy S7 also comes with a flat display with larger,variant offering the curved screen as per last year. The S7 sticks to its guns with it too offering a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display.
There is change in the display technology though as the Galaxy S7 comes with what Samsung is calling an Always-On display.Users can see important information without the need to turn the main display on.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 has special feature related to it’s camera abilities. It arrived on the smartphone scene with a 16-megapixel rear snapper, coupled with a 5-megapixel front snapper and both perform brilliantly.
The Galaxy S7 launches with a 12-megapixel rear camera, although the pixels have been increased to 1.2um from 1.4um, which should help with low light conditions. The aperture on the new device has also widened to f/1.7 and the new camera .
The front-facing camera on the Galaxy S7 remains at 5-megapixels like the Galaxy S6.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 moved away from Qualcomm and went in-house for its processing power. The Exynos octa-core chipset is supported by 3GB of RAM and internal memory options of 32G, 64GB and 128GB. MicroSD card support,while the 2550mAh battery is recharged via Micro-USB.
The Galaxy S7 will come in a couple of different hardware variants depending on the region. One will offer a quad-core chipset, while the other will have an octa-core chip. Samsung hasn’t specified which manufacturers are making the chips but it is thought the quad-core variant will be Exynos and the octa-core will be Qualcomm’s SD820.
The Galaxy S7 will come with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory. Ni USB Type-C is on board but as we said microSD support is back. The SGS7 also sees a bump in battery capacity to 3000mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 arrived with the latest version of Android at the time, along with version of its TouchWiz overlay. It will get an upgrade to Marshmallow but it is not happened yet. Although it is coming shortly we have heard.
The Galaxy S7 will arrives with Marshmallow from the box. The presence of TouchWiz will be there again and the new device will also come protected by Samsung Knox, as well as with Samsung Pay and a new Games Launcher.
